Welcome Home

A resident-owned community in Olympia, creating affordable and stable living for all members.

Welcome Home!

Hidden Village Cooperative is a resident-owned manufactured home community made up of 20 lots located in the capitol city of Olympia, Wash. Hidden Village is located on a private road which allows quiet living with a small-town feel yet we have easy access to Interstate 5.

We can be in downtown Seattle in just an hour and downtown Portland, Ore., in just under two hours. We are just five miles from the city center of Olympia and eight miles from Evergreen State College’s forests, trails and beaches. For a quick hike or picnic, Woodland Creek Community Park is only an eight-minute drive. We can be at the gates of Mt. Rainier National Park in less than two hours. We are centrally located for easy access to all that the South Sound area has to offer.

Hidden Village is owned by the Community Members who live here – we are a resident-owned community (ROC). If you like a homey atmosphere, this is the place for you!

We own it

The Member homeowners of Hidden Village control the rent and make the rules. When the park went up for sale in 2008, the residents formed a 501(c)4 corporation and found financing. On September 12, 2008, we became a ROC by purchasing the land and infrastructure. Now, a democratically elected Board of Directors manages the business of running Hidden Village Cooperative. Every Member household in the community has a say in who sits on the Board, how we spend our money, the annual budget, and whether we make changes to the rent.

We’re also part of a national network of nearly 300 ROCs just like us. That membership provides us with access to expert coaching on how to run our ROC, leadership development and training, communication with dozens of community leaders who face many of the same issues we do, and more. Life in Hidden Village is truly different than in a commercially owned community – we invite you to find out firsthand how that difference makes living here so much better.
